It has a devoted following among people who grew up on grape flavoured everything, and it is a strong choice for hot days when you want something both sweet and genuinely cold.

Grape splits opinion more than almost any other flavour. To some palates the artificial version reads as medicinal, and no amount of cooling fixes that impression. If you have never enjoyed grape lollies or grape soft drink, this is unlikely to be your device.

The cooling sits on the stronger side of the range as well, closer to Lush Ice than to Peach Ice, which is worth factoring in if menthol is something you deliberately ration.

Between the sweetness and the chill, there is not much subtlety on offer, and that is rather the point.
